It is the ‘natural course’ that some blogs are going to be more popular than others. Therefore, some blogs get a lot of visits, hits, and comments. And, some bloggers, therefore, are more popular than the rest of us for whom what…don’t really count?
I’m not sure what the purpose was for wordpress.com’s announcement that continues to take up space in my dashboard: “Congratulations to our ‘bloggers who really count’.”
In all contests (is blogging a contest?) there are winners (or a single winner), and the rest of us are…losers?
I wonder where wordpress would be if only the “bloggers who really count” were the only ones blogging, and the rest of us left the blogosphere?
I am a bit offended by the statement, “Bloggers Who Really Count”.
Perhaps these MOST POPULAR bloggers do supply the world with great information. But, so do the rest of us.
This last note is for ‘The Rest of Us who DON’T Count‘: Maybe I’m in the minority, but I think we DO COUNT! While many of us may not have public acclaim or notoriety of any sort, without us, wordpress.com would not be where it is today.
So, as I like to say when I’m a bit pissed off: “Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!”
Future Goal: To ‘really, really, really, super duper ka-plooper COUNT as a blogger!
