SERIES NOTE / ARTIST’S STATEMENT:  OFF WORLD – ALIEN LANDSCAPES is a mixed-media art series that I started in 2001. This series has continued in a slow progression over the years, and will continue into the future.  Various art elements make up each image in this series.  ALL of the art pieces involve Photography.  However, all of them also include other mediums, such as painting, sketching, sculpture, natural objects, natural and artificial lighting, and computer digital art.
SERIES MOTIVATIONS – INFLUENCES:  The inspiration for these art pieces usually comes from short science fiction stories I develop in my mind; however, I am even more influenced by the work of great Sci-Fi writers like Isaac Asimov, or Robert A. Heinlein.  Other times, I am greatly inspired by my favorite Sci-Fi TV shows, such as Star Gate UNIVERSE; the STAR TREK Franchise; SPACE ABOVE & BEYOND; and, BABYLON 5.  When I see the possibilities of life on other worlds, then I start thinking about what kind of scenery these other life forms (alien life forms) may experience on their worlds.  It is the imaginary scenery that I attempt to design and photograph, and create to make the art pieces of the OFF WORLD – ALIEN LANDSCAPE Series.
