THINGS MOST PEOPLE DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO, IMAGE DESCRIPTION
Title: THINGS MOST PEOPLE DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO #19, Edit C, on 3 September 2015.
→ This is a photo of the wooden shutters of a historic, colonial-style house in Pulau Tikus, Penang.
Series: THINGS MOST PEOPLE DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO.
Series Years:  2015.
Style:  ENVIRONMENTAL STILL LIFE Photography.
Study Of: “THINGS MOST PEOPLE DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO” along the streets of Penang.  These may be mundane, old, and decaying elements, or things thrown away on the street that happen to land and sit in a particular way that becomes an interesting scene to me.   This is a somewhat macroscopic, environmental still life photography perspective where the parts of the subjects, the form, the texture, the color, and the design, are the main subjects in the images…the objects in the photos lend a hand to the over all structure of the images but don’t tell the whole story of what I find interesting in the photographs.

  1. I have a problem with this image. Our eyes are very sensitive to alignments. If the content of an image by itself is already very graphical, then you must compose accordingly, following the given lines and structures. Even a little bit off, is too much. That’s why I shoot these kind of objects from a tripod, but even this still gives me a misalignment of 1 degree, which I can only correct in Photoshop or LR.

    1. Me too, but as I mentioned in a previous reply, in this Island state, there is less and less room to get what I want as a “best” location to get a shot, sometimes. I had to nearly step into speeding traffic, next to a huge tree that was taking up the space that was the “best” spot to stand. A chainsaw would have solved the problem but the tree activists would not have liked it too much. I do what I can, with the environment I find myself in, even though it is not ideal many of the times, but I too am frustrated with misalignment and do what I can with my equipment, which is limited.
