If I were going to do photography for the challenges that are associated within the traditional craft, and also, just to do it for the fun of it, I would forget about digital, and go back to using my Kodak Brownie Box Camera, which uses medium format, 120 Film. The main technical problem with that was that it produces negatives—very long negatives! No one here in Penang could print for me photos from my negatives because they were not a standard size negative—the box camera produced really wide, panorama-style negatives. The solution: I had to scan my negatives using a flatbed scanner (when I had one long ago), which produced digital negative files. After that, I took the digital negative files into a file editing software and used the “Invert” image command to produce a positive digital image file. This was a lengthy process, but the results were always interesting. Anyway, if I photographed just for the fun of it, and if there was still 120 film available, and if I still had a flatbed scanner, and if I wanted to spend a lot of money on film and processing, then I would just create photographs with my Kodak Brownie Box Camera.
The LIGHT STREAKS IN ORDERED CHAOS — Vol. 1. A Folio Photography Collection, is a fine art series of 24 photographs, in a hard cover book by Nawfal Johnson Nur.
Nawfal created the images in this folio, in May 2016. These 24 images are part of a larger collection of art photographs—the ABSTRACT LIGHT STREAKS, which has more than 350 photographs (as of September 2017).
Nawfal began the ABSTRACT LIGHT STREAKS collection in 2015, and images are designed for it regularly. This is “Vol. 1.”, and because he has so many of these art photographs in the collection, the magnitude of this work will likely push him to create further folio publications of this collection. This folio photography collection is a book of light streaks photography, a style of abstract photography Nawfal calls “Fluid Lights Photography” (he also refers to it as “Active Lights Photography”). As the title of this work suggests, the light streaks appear as almost a never-ending swirl of chaos, but when seen thoughtfully, the streaks are actually quite orderly.

“Penang Trees – an Abstract Expressionistic Photography Point of View,” by Nawfal Johnson Nur, is a collection of 18 fine art Abstract Expressionism photographs.
This series shows “what else” the trees are – their symbolic meanings based on physical characteristics, which in a larger sense, inspired this project. Nawfal photographed the trees from the viewpoint of a subjective observer wishing to record and design images that exhibit the grand characteristics of trees with their wild and twisting branches and beautiful glowing hues. However, those qualities were just the beginning points to base this series on: Nawfal used those visual cues to design images that more appropriately exemplified his feelings while capturing the photographs. The qualities of having “abundance” and “hope”, are traits that Nawfal believes trees naturally have, and generously give to humankind. This is what Nawfal wanted to show in these abstract images.

|Description:||BENDING SPACE is a collection of 15 Abstract Expressionistic Photographs, which illustrate the idea of bending space. Nawfal pondered what colors and space itself, may look like near a black hole – around the Event Horizon. He also created a photograph (No. 4 in this series) that shows the minuscule ‘bouncy’ strings that represents String Theory. Nawfal Johnson Nur took inspiration from the Cosmological theories that try to explain the very nature of the expansion of space, and used these ideas to design the photography series, BENDING SPACE.|

CRACKED, CHIPPED, and ROUGH, is an abstract look at a very mundane subject—old, cracked, chipped, and peeled paint on walls.
What is revealed in this abstract photography collection are the macro-details of old painted surfaces. In my eyes, the joy of this type of macro photography is looking at, and seeing, the fine details of cracks in old paint; wondering how the curled ends of paint have lost its adhesive qualities; and, creating the pictorial illusion of texture in the two dimensional image. This may sound weird, but when someone looks at my cracked paint images, I want the rough textures of the paint, and the wall, to reach out and scratch your eyes! Not in a violent sort of way, but I want you so say, “Wow, I can feel the roughness of this scene when I see these images.” The primary effect I wanted to show with these photographs is the illusion of three-dimensional space. CRACKED, CHIPPED, and ROUGH is a collection of 15 black & white, and color images, in 22 pages.

All of the photographs were taken from Penang Island, Malaysia. Nawfal says that when he looks up to the sky, he wants to see clouds—of course—but behind and through the clouds, he wants to see intense rays of sunshine, and he wants to capture the fringe of the clouds on fire, which is caused by the powerful light of the midday sun blasting the clouds from the background. That is the visual magic of this collection of cloudscapes.

So, occasionally, I will list my books here at my blog, so perhaps, someone will be interested in purchasing a copy. This one will certainly make a nice, artsy addition to your PDF EBOOK reading collection.
