So…I’m mind’en my own business, outside doing some yard work, and yeah, it feels a little hot, well, a little intense sort of hot. I’m trying to stay in the shade as much as possible but the yard can’t be all in the shade. I know the right thing to do is, go get my shemagh and a long sleeve shirt, but no, I’m think’en I’ll be done before I ever turn into fried chicken.
Boy was I wrong.
I have a pretty good tan, but I can get burned on top of a tan if I’m out in the nasty equatorial sun too long. My dermatologist would be Pissed! I could see her face now, if she saw my burnedness. Thank the Universe for Aloe Vera gel. It does help.
I’m not sure where you live, but if you ever thought, “Oh how great it would be to live on a Tropical Island somewhere,” it’s NOT all Tea and Strumpets”! If you are a white person, like me, I spend a lot of time finding ways to avoid UVA and UVB rays, and not always successfully. And sometimes, I think I won’t be exposed long enough, but that is misguided thinking, as I found out today.
“I’ll know better next time,” said the man who said, “I’ll never do that again I said the time before.”
