The Father of Photography according to John Werge (1890).

“Charles William Scheele was born at Stralsund, Sweden, December 19th, 1742, and died at Koeping, on lake Moeler, May 21st, 1786. He was the real father of photography, for he produced the first photographic picture on record without camera and without lens, with the same chemical compound and the same beautiful and wonderful combination of natural colours which we now employ. Little did he dream what was to follow.”

No, No Really, you are WAY TOO ABSTRACT for Us!

Well, there it is folks, I have another photograph in the GETTY IMAGES Collection! Amazing isn’t it.

LONG AGO…

I approached Getty Images and Corbis, and both told me that my photography was too ABSTRACT for them.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that some of my photographs are appreciated by Getty Images and that they have approved of them for their collection. That is great.

I guess at least some of their photo editors appreciate Abstract Photography now. That is commendable and good for me.

Nevertheless, for such a long time, Getty Images, Corbis, and others, would not touch my abstract work with a ten foot pole, but now the mood must have changed.

I’ve always been very abstract and that is me.

It is good that these Premiere Stock Photography Agencies are appreciating some abstract work now.

COLLECTION: ENVIRONMENTAL STILL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHY

Collection Years: 2017 – 2018.
—————

Collection Description:

This Collection is Still Life Photography, designed while walking around Penang. To be more specific, this photography is essentially ENVIRONMENTAL STILL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHY. It is a record of capturing serendipity as it presents itself to me, as I go around Penang, to photograph. The subjects are colors—paints of abstract designs interacting with environmental objects, like tree leaves, water puddles, rain drops, dry and cracked dirt, colourful rocks, and anything that catches my attention and presents itself as good still life subjects.

ALWAYS Stuck at 1,600 Subscribers — Am I Stuck in a Twilight Zone Episode?

ALWAYS Stuck at 1,600 Subscribers — Am I Stuck in a Twilight Zone Episode?

I am really at odds with the mysterious process of wordpress’s subscribers’s database, IN WHICH, everytime I FINALLY REACH 1,600 subscribers (by email), MAGICALLY, a couple, or a handful of subscribers, unsubscribe…LIKE, WTF!!!!

This has been going on for months.

Is wordpress just f’ing with me?

Is this some sort of game their AI is playing with me?

OR, am I really that much of a dislikeable, unskilled, charlatan, and my Photography Blog(s) are like Cryptonite to people who land on my blog post pages?

Honestly, I have no idea, but it is getting a little bit tiring that every time I seem to make some headway with subscribers, some necromancer-magic ensues, and my subscribers disappear into nothingness.

Maybe after being a Photographist, of one kind or another, for 41 years, I really don’t have any clue about how to make an interesting compostion…aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh………….that must be it.

Why would anyone waste time unsubscribing from blogs?

I don’t know about any of you, but I DON’T go out of my way to unsubscribe anyone…there is no point. I subscribe to people who I thought I would find interesting. EVEN IF I DON’T normally visit many of my subscribing blogs, I may sometimes find interesting posts from ANY of my fellow Bloggers–THUS, I keep my subscriptions and don’t normally waste time going thru my many blog subscriptions with the sole purpose of unsubscribing.

———————
Series Description:
These artworks are photo-creations of Nawfal Johnson’s original paintings, and also, image creations from photographs captured of decaying urban walls. “Disorderly-Order”, the name of this series, has two distinct meanings. One, there is a method (Order) to the madness (Disorder) in the execution of these artworks. Two, the artist is taking a “more orderly” painting, or a fragment of an urban wall (photographed), and turing it up-side-down, and inside out, to get to the final photographic art representation. The disorderly from within the work, that is the order of the design built into the photographic artwork. Thus, these are ‘two-steps’ artwork creations—first-step, creating a painting (or photographing an urban still-life of a wall); and then, second-step, taking the original creation and designing a final art photograph.
